Hiking to Hidden Canyon. A steep cliff is right next to you as you hold on to a thick chain and watch your footing on the sandy trail.

After lying down and staring up at this straight cliff face, we were lower down on the trail and heard a loud whizzing sound and then a loud "whump" as a small rock hit the ground. From 3000 feet up, that rock would have easily took me out. We felt like sitting ducks after that and moved double time on the way down.

One day lying in our tent we heard the loudest smack, and it had to have been a huge rock falling somewhere. This geography is still shaping itself.
